BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes)

BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes) is a module that extends the original mechanism for synchronizing user and group data in IBM' process management systems: IBM BAW (IBM Business Automation Workflow) and IBM BPM (IBM Business Process Manager). User data comes from external LDAP/AD user management systems and external repositories. The original mechanism only supports basic data (user name + full name). The BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes) module lets you sync all user attributes from IBM BAW and IBM BPM process applications that have equivalents in the LDAP/AD repository. You can also sync extended data on user groups (e.g., indicating the manager's group, building a hierarchy of nested groups).

📄️ Apache ActiveMQ Configuration

The asynchronous user data synchronization functionality in BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes) requires the installation and configuration of an Apache ActiveMQ server. This server is used to implement asynchronous user data synchronization. This document provides instructions for downloading, installing, and configuring Apache ActiveMQ and its Resource Adapter for IBM WebSphere. This functionality is optional and not required for the proper operation of BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes). If it is not needed, you can skip this document (see the enableMQConsumer configuration parameter in the ldap-options.xml file description).

📄️ Asynchronous data synchronization service

Asynchronous user data synchronization functionality in BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes) requires the installation and configuration of the WebSphere application, BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes) Web Application. This application contains a REST service that enables communication with the ActiveMQ server (by inserting an appropriate message into the ActiveMQ queue) and, therefore, the invocation of asynchronous user data synchronization. In this document, you will find instructions for the installation and configuration of this application. This functionality is optional and is not required for the correct operation of BPM SecurityProvider (Ganimedes). If not needed, you can skip this document (see the enableMQConsumer configuration parameter in the ldap-options.xml file description).
